Giulietti / Schouten AIA Architects P.C. – Profile and History Giulietti / Schouten AIA Architects P.C. is a five-person firm with a diverse range of project types constructed throughout Oregon and the NW Region. David formed the company in 1987 after working for BOOR/A Architects in Portland for six years. Following graduation from The City College of New York, David worked for a leading N.Y.C. firm specializing in low and moderate income housing prior to his arrival in Portland in 1981. Tim Schouten joined the firm in 1993 after working for SERA Architects for four years. Prior to joining Sera, Tim worked for CYP Inc, Architecture and Planning in California. Tim became a principal in 2000. The diversity of style in their small-scale projects has often been described as a strong point by clients because it has shown their ability to listen to the client’s goals and needs. Maintaining a small firm has allowed the principals to maintain a close relationship with team members as well as allowing all team members to maintain a close relationship with all aspects of the projects. The firm attempts to expand the design horizons of their clients as well as providing a personal touch to the services that they provide. We believe that the success of each project is dependent on a strong communication between the architect and client, especially during the initial programming phase. While being best known for their residential and specialized housing projects they continue to be called upon to design a variety of building types and have worked theaters, schools, religious and church facilities, restaurants/retail and offices. Firm Members The present firm is a synthesis of special abilities of the principals, David Giulietti and Tim Schouten along with staff members Allan Norris, Jeff Guggenheim, Jenny Landsberg and Anne Morrow.
