Recently completed, this house sits on a 40 acre site at the base of a hill just outside of Portland. From the house one can see the coast range mountains and a glimpse of the family's vineyard. The clients were looking to bring in lots of light and use passive heating and cooling for the house. The clients were looking to build a house that could be self-sufficient. The heating system is wood burning providing hot water to in-floor radiant heat. They have a generator on site to provide electricity for the house and granny flat about the garage.
