The Parsons Residence was designed to be a single level, low maintenance house for the owners to spend their retirement years in. The owners expressed the strong desire for a low maintenance yard and home, with little or no overhangs to allow for an abundance of natural sunlight to filter into the house.

The design is three distinct gabled wings which clearly express the plan of the house. The wings are configured around a central South facing court/patio, which offers privacy and easterly views to a small orchard and the West Hills.

The central wing houses the main living/public spaces - Great Room, Kitchen, Nook, Dining Room. The east wing houses the owners private rooms - Master Bedroom/Bathroom, Exercise Room, Study, and Laundry/Sewing Room. The West wing serves to house the guests bedrooms, garage, and workshop. There is a small partial basement in which the wine cellar, storage room, utility room, and mechanical room are accessed from the garage.

"It takes a lot of patience, hard work and ease of communication to successfully work out a design for an ideal home. When we hired David Giulietti and Tim Schouten as architects to design our house we found two very talented men who listened to our desires and were able to transform them into a workable plan. As construction began, they were there to oversee each detail, which gave us peace of mind and assurance that our home would be just as we wanted. We now have a very beautiful, comfortable home of unique design. I, especially, enjoyed this project and, if I didn't have such a perfect home, I wouldn't mind building another."
